“I'm impressed with Five Good Friends. They arranged, in no time, a cleaner, gardener, physio, assisted swimming, podiatry, exercise classes and the list goes on. I'm very grateful. ”

Frequently Asked Questions

Once you’ve been assigned a Support at Home funding level and signed a service agreement with a provider, like Five Good Friends, your aged care allied health services can begin. We offer two membership options, Self-managed and Full Service, so you can choose what level of support best fits your family.

If you’re still waiting for approval, you don’t have to delay your care — you can start sooner by self-funding. We can also guide you through the application process and make sure your care continues smoothly once funding is approved.

Yes. Allied health works best when it’s part of a broader support plan. It can be combined with services like personal care, nursing or meal support, creating a more complete approach to staying independent and well at home.

  • Allied health funding for aged care doesn’t include services already paid for under other government programs, such as Chronic Disease Management Plans or Mental Health Care Plans.
  • It also doesn’t cover primary medical services like hospital care, ambulance services, GP treatment, prescription medications, dental care or psychiatry.
  • Support for conditions unrelated to aged care or disability, such as acute mental health treatment, is generally excluded as well.

Allied health services at home can be fully funded under Support at Home (clinical supports), meaning eligible participants pay no contribution for these essential services.

Many people can also access support through other government programs like the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)or NDIS.

If funding isn’t in place yet, you can also choose to self-fund, allowing you to begin care straight away without waiting. We offer Fully-managed and Self-managed Membership that can be privately funded.
