Geelong home care that’s personal

Life in Geelong is about more than where you live — it’s the community you see at the pier, your local café, the festivals, galleries and strolls alongside the Baywalk Bollards. Staying close to home keeps those connections alive.

Stay connected to the coastal communities that matter most

While some like pub lunches, others prefer to see a show or join community classes. Our Helpers support aged care and NDIS participants to keep enjoying everything that makes life in Geelong so laidback and beautifully yours.

You can get much-needed support to attend appointments, social groups or simply enjoy time at the coffee spot you’ve been going to for years. And however you like to stay connected? We’re there with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of respite care in Geelong varies depending on the type of support you need (e.g., a few hours of in-home assistance or 24-hour care), the length of visits, and whether support is delivered on weekends or public holidays.

If you’re using government funding (such as through Support at Home), much of the cost may be subsidised, but you may contribute depending on your income and circumstances.

For privately paid respite (out-of-pocket), rates can typically start from $95 per hour for personal/domestic support, with higher rates for clinical, nursing or overnight care. Please contact our team for a tailored quote based on your needs.

You may be entitled to government-subsidised in-home care if you meet the eligibility criteria and complete an aged care assessment. To access funding:

  1. Contact My Aged Care (via phone or online) to start an assessment.
  2. An assessor will visit you to understand your needs.
  3. If approved, you’ll be allocated a Support at Home package with a funding level based on your care needs.

Once approved, you can choose a provider to help you get support at home, from personal care and transport to domestic tasks and allied health.

Not necessarily. If you’re waiting for your Support at Home funding to be approved, you can start care sooner by self-funding services privately. Many people begin support while they wait, so that practical help is in place right away.

Once your government funding is confirmed, we can help transition any ongoing support into subsidised services, so there’s no disruption to care. If funding for home care is already approved, we’ll get Helpers along the Geelong Coast to help you get your services organised.
