What 24-hour home care services involve:

  • Day and night support – Continuous assistance across all hours, with Helpers available to respond to your needs, whether it's morning routines, afternoon activities, evening meals, or overnight care.
  • Rotating Helpers – A consistent team of Helpers who work in shifts to provide seamless coverage. You'll get to know each one on a personal level, and they'll all be familiar with your routines, preferences and care plan.
  • ‍Awake overnight shifts – For those who need active support during sleeping hours, we can arrange Helpers who remain awake throughout the night. This includes assistance with toileting, repositioning, medication prompts, managing sleep, or simply providing reassurance.

What is the difference between 24-hour care and live-in home services?

Live-in home services mean a Helper stays in the home and provides support throughout the day, with a dedicated break and uninterrupted sleep overnight.

Twenty-four-hour care involves two or more Helpers working in shifts, ensuring someone is awake, alert and available at all times for continuous safety and support.

How soon can 24-hour home support begin?

We're usually able to get you started with 24-hour home care within a few days, depending on your location and particular requirements, especially if you have already qualified for the Support at Home program. Discover our Fully-Managed or Self-Managed options to determine whether you want to choose your own support Helper or if you prefer everything to be organised for you.

How much does 24-hour care cost?

If you qualify for government funding, your care expenses can be funded through the Support at Home program if you are over 65 (or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the age of 50). Participant contributions may apply, subject to your financial situation.

You can also privately fund 24-hour home care to start services during the funding application process. Consider our Fully-Managed or Self-Managed aged care membership plans if you require care while your subsidy approval is pending.
