Frequently Asked Questions

Home nursing care can be covered under government-funded Support at Home or the NDIS.

  • Under Support at Home: Clinical Supports like nursing are fully funded and do not require an income-based contribution, so you won’t pay a co-contribution. Opt for a Full Service Membership for fully coordinated care, or a Self-Managed Membership to select your team and manage visits.
  • Under NDIS funding: Nursing care can be covered if it is directly related to a participant’s disability support needs, such as monitoring health conditions, administering medications, or supporting daily care tasks. It must be included in the participant’s plan and approved by NDIS.
  • Short Term Pathways: Reach out about the End-of-Life Pathway or the Restorative Care Pathway

If you’re waiting for Support at Home funding, you can start privately and switch once funding is approved. Many families combine private aged care funding and private hours to ensure consistent, reliable support. Explore our Full Service or Self-Managed options to read more about private home care.

If you’re unsure what applies, we can check eligibility and help plan costs so you’re never guessing.

This really depends on the health of your family member, but many start with:

  • short visits for medication assistance
  • weekly nursing check-ins for monitoring
  • intensive daily visits after surgery, a fall, or hospital discharge

We can build a schedule around specific routines, so life at home feels supported, not disrupted.

NDIS in-home nursing care is available for participants under 65 (or under 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) with disabilities who need medical support and assistance with daily activities. Eligibility is based on your health needs, functional limitations, and your NDIS plan. Your care team will work with you to ensure services align with your goals and support requirements.
