How is in-home respite care funded?

Support at Home

In-home respite sits within the Independence services category under the Support at Home program. A participant contribution applies, based on your income and assets assessment completed with Services Australia. Respite at home is designed to give carers time to rest and manage other responsibilities while providing clients with social connection, a change of routine, and emotional support.

NDIS

NDIS participants can access up to 28 days of respite per year, usually in blocks of up to 14 days at a time. Respite must be included in your NDIS plan and is intended as temporary support.

Private and self-funded

If you'd like to start sooner, while waiting for a government assessment or if you prefer to self-fund, private respite care is available. Explore our Full Service Membership and Self-Managed Membership options to get started.

Our team can help you understand your eligibility and the funding options available to you.
