NDIS Orientation Course for Helpers
Five Good Friends is a proud NDIS Registered Provider!
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is the new way for Australians under the age of 65 living with disability to receive the supports they need. It is a lifelong approach that gives people with disability choice and control so they can make their own decisions about their life and helps them reach their goals. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has launched a free online short course to assist all workers in the disability sector to better support people with disability.
The short interactive course called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ is a mandatory industry requirement for NDIS workers. We encourage all Helpers currently supporting NDIS Members to complete the course as soon as possible. For Helpers who would like to be considered for future matches with NDIS Members this course is the first step!
What does the course cover?
- What is the NDIS?
- The role of the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission
- Your responsibilities under the NDIS Code of Conduct - from the perspective of NDIS participants. Including: human rights, respect & risk.
- Your role in achieving the vision of the NDIS
It takes approximately 90 minutes to complete the four units and can be done at your own pace. During the course Helpers are encouraged to consider and respond to different scenarios in the context of supporting a person with disability.
Once completed, you will receive an industry recognised Certificate of Completion which is transferrable across NDIS service providers. Please email your Certificate to email@example.com
