What we offer

Support to stay in the home and community you love

When we started Five Good Friends, we wanted to reimagine care in a way that put people at the centre – their choices, their relationships, and their communities. This is still what guides us. Everyone has a different way they'd like to be supported.

Whichever path you choose – Full Service Membership or Self-managed Membership – we’ll be with you.

When you want us to take care of it all

Full Service Membership is for you.

Some people prefer care that’s organised for them — where visits are scheduled, services are in place, and things run as they should. With Full Service Membership, we get to know what matters to you, coordinate the right support, and stay across the details.

When you want to take the lead

Self Coordination is for you.

Our Self-managed Membership is a good fit if you're hands-on, or have someone helping you stay organised. You'll use our app to make bookings and track services, with support nearby if you need it.

Included in every membership

This is what every Member can count on - support that helps you stay organised, informed, and in step with the people around you.

1

Helper matching

Members are supported by Helpers they know and trust - not a different person each visit but someone they have a genuine connection with. Our data shows many of these relationships last five years or more.

2

Care monitoring

Smart technology to track health and wellbeing over time by picking up small changes in notes and check-ins, so care teams can respond early and effectively.

3

A trusted network of services

Access to over 4,000 trusted providers in the app — people our care teams work with every day, from physios to podiatrists to meal delivery services.

3

Helper upskilling

Five Good Friends offers nationally recognised free training to our Helpers so familiar faces can keep providing support and companionship as Member needs change.

3

In-app notebook

Keep everyone on the same page, literally. Members, loved ones and Helper stay informed, in touch and in control through our app.

What is a member?

At Five Good Friends, membership is about belonging.

Some might call them clients or customers — but to us, Members feels right. It reflects the kind of connection we build, and the trust that grows over time. A Member is someone who has joined Five Good Friends, to receive care and support, in a way that suits them best.

At-home aged care can provide a wide range of support services, tailored to individual needs. These may include everyday assistance such as meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, personal care, and help with shopping or transport. More specialised services like nursing care, allied health (such as physiotherapy or occupational therapy), and companionship are also available. Support at home helps people remain independent, safe, and connected in the comfort of their own home, giving older Australians, and their loved ones, peace of mind.

You don’t have to figure it out alone. Eligibility is usually checked through My Aged Care, but private services are open to anyone. Either way, when you’re with us, you’re among friends – and our care advisors can guide you through step by step.

Government-funded home care is subsidised by the Australian Government through the Support at Home program or Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). These services are designed to help older Australians stay living safely and independently at home for longer. You’ll need to complete an aged care assessment through My Aged Care to determine your eligibility and level of support. You may need to make a contribution to some of your services, based on your income.

Private home care services, on the other hand, are paid for directly by you or your family. They offer fast access to care, without waiting lists or government eligibility assessments. Private home care can also complement government-funded services if you need extra hours or specialised support beyond your package budget.

When speaking with potential providers, ask whether you’ll have a dedicated team you can reach whenever you need to, and if you can choose or change your carers to ensure the right fit. Find out how carers are matched to clients, whether you’ll have the same support workers for continuity, and if the provider offers ongoing free training as your care needs evolve. Look for qualified, experienced staff who meet government standards, flexible services that adapt over time, and clear, transparent communication about budgets, scheduling, and feedback.

Absolutely. Care should never feel one-size-fits-all. From a few hours of help a week to daily hands-on support, services are tailored to your loved one’s needs — making home life feel easier, calmer and more familiar. At Five Good Friends, it’s home care that understands you.

The cost of at-home aged care services can vary depending on the type of support you need and whether you are required to pay a contribution to the service, based on your income. Clinical supports such as nursing and physiotherapy are fully funded by the government under the Support at Home program. Independence and Everyday Living services may require a participant contribution.

When you’re engaging a care provider, you’ll want to know that the care workers are equipped to support your loved one’s care journey. At Five Good Friends, we focus on continuous, tailored learning. We have a dedicated Learning & Development team and comprehensive micro-credential programs that empower care workers (Helpers) to upskill in areas such as medication support, mobility assistance, safe swallowing and personal care. Training happens both online and in real homes, and is structured at three levels, ‘Standby’, ‘Partial’ and ‘Full Assistance’, so that a Helper can stay with a Member even as their care needs evolve.

Our Members have access to a curated pool of over 4,000 care and health professionals who are vetted, qualified, and backed by the governance of the Aged Care Quality Standards and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Yes, many providers have experience in dementia and complex health needs. From memory support to medication reminders, the goal is always the same: helping your loved one feel safe, supported and comfortable in their own home.

Chevron Down Icon

Very flexible. Some families only need a few hours each week, while others prefer daily visits. Care should fit around your lifestyle, not the other way around. After all, it all comes down to routine – we just make it easier.

Chevron Down Icon

It usually begins with a chat, followed by a needs assessment with My Aged Care. Our care advisors can guide you through the process. We provide you with a tailored care plan, then a friendly carer is matched to you or your loved one, and support begins. Straightforward, supportive and stress-free. Just how it should be.
