Working Safely in Members' Homes
Five Good Friends is commited to providing a safe workplace environment for all Helpers. Our Work Health and Safety Policy can be viewed here.
It is important Helpers, Members and Five Good Friends work together to promote safe homes by identifying health and safety risks and the best ways to manage them. The QLD Office of Industrial Relations have published a Guide to Working Safely in People’s Homes which offers practical advice on managing health and safety for community workers.
This is a great resource for Helpers and covers relevant topics including:
- Duty of care
- What are some of the problems of working in a home environment?
- Identifying hazards and risk factors
- Work-related violence and aggressive behaviour
- Work related stress
- Remote or isolated work
- Electrical safety
- Slips, trips and falls
- Driving risks
If you have any work or health safety concerns please contact your Community Manager or the Workforce Team on 1300 787 581.
