Helper Spotlight: Meet Julia
Helper Spotlight: Meet Julia!
Julia Moorcroft 36 years old South Australia
I decided to become a helper as I really enjoy the older generations company. I love to help people & hearing their stories.
A general catch up with my Members, I know can mean so much. I have a great relationship with my Members and am growing my membership base in Adelaide. I am very excited for the future - I’d love to help more people stay in their homes and communities where they want to live.
My favourite part of the job is making someone’s day, with a catch up over a cuppa tea, or helping ease someone’s worries with solutions. Definitely making a difference and bringing happiness with me along to visits. My greatest strength is helping people out. I do it without even realising I’m offering the help.
If I was to give any advice to other Helpers, it is listen to your Member. Not all Members want you to come in and do all their jobs for them. Compassion means so much to so many people. And being relaxed, friendly but also professional at the same time.
I love gardening, walking, anything herbal - my herbal garden book is next to my bedside table. Making new friendships and most of all helping others is very important to me. I love spending time with my beautiful family, being in the garden, walking, cooking, catching up with friends and camping.
My kids and husband inspire me every single day in every single way. Best decision I’ve made is becoming a mum, it’s the greatest gift in life and I cherish every moment of it.
